LPS 2026 Starting Prep Information
STARTING AT OUR SCHOOL:
New! Confirmed starting arrangements for 2026 Preps:

Thursday 29 January or Friday 30 January |
Prep students attend school either Thursday or Friday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. From 1:30 pm onwards on these days, a parent-teacher meeting will be scheduled with the class teacher. Parents will be advised of the starting date for their child during Term 4, 2025. |

Monday 2 February |
All students attend from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. |

Wednesdays in February |
Prep students will not attend Wednesdays during February. On these Wednesdays, teachers schedule Entry Assessments, which are undertaken by every Victorian government school, and parent meetings. |

PARENT PAYMENTS:
Laburnum Primary School advises parents/carers of our parent payment arrangements for 2026.

Writable pdf's, and translatable information, are available online for our families by accessing that link. An overview of the DET Parent Payments Policy is also included.
Please complete the Parent Payment form and return it to the school by email by 24 November 2025, so the school can order items needed for your child’s learning next year.

How do I collect my child's Stationery Starter Pack?
The Stationery Starter Pack collection will be held on Tuesday 9 December 2025. For parents who have purchased packs, we will have two collection times:
- 9.30am – 10.15am
- 3.15pm – 3.45pm
The packs will need to be collected from our School Canteen which is situated next to the Gym. Please refer to the map (below) which shows you where the collection will take place (marked on map with a 
). Entry to the school will be via the Pakenham Street or Janet Street gates.
If you need to make a payment before the day please pay by Direct Deposit, BPay or credit card over the phone. Please include your child's name in the reference and email a copy of the Parent Payment form to the office laburnum.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Please note: if you have reports from specialists that will help inform us about your child's learning needs, please email these to the school as soon as possible. (For example, these could include pediatric, psychology, occupational therapy and speech therapy reports).
