Prep

At Laburnum, our priority is to support your child’s transition as they begin their schooling journey, in order for them to thrive. Prep is a fabulous year that includes excursions and our 100 Days of School Celebration.

Our teachers work with children in their first year at school to learn to make decisions, solve problems, develop thinking skills, collaborate and communicate. Personal and Social capabilities are a focus to ensure Prep students develop a positive sense of self and relationships with peers.  All aspects of our Prep program contribute to success at school and in the wider community and, of course, learning Literacy and Numeracy skills are essential. 

Our buddies program is a highlight for both Preps and the Year Four students. They love the activities, the shared experiences and seeing a friendly face out in the playground. Prep at Laburnum is a happy and supportive place to learn!
