Each year, a group of Year 5 students take part in a full day of training with an external consultant to learn how to become a Peer Mediator. Students learn a range of necessary communication and problem solving skills which they can then use to support their peers in the playground.

Peer Mediation follows the Restorative Practice model – allowing students to be heard, whilst supporting them to come up with a positive outcome.

Our Year 5 Peer Mediators have been presented with badges and certificates and are easily recognised in the Junior playground areas, wearing their fluoro vests.
