Welcome to Laburnum Primary School
Starting school is an important time for children and their families.
They adjust to new roles, identities and expectations, become familiar with our school and develop new relationships.
At Laburnum Primary School, we support children and their families through this transition. Along with other local government schools, we follow the Department of Education guidelines when scheduling our Transition Calendar.
Updates to our Transition Calendar are added to this page on our school website, under 'Enrolments'.

As per the statewide Prep Enrolment Timeline,
we will be processing and confirming enrolments from Monday 20 April, 2026.
Prep 2027 Transition Calendar:
Please arrange for your child to attend all four sessions.
The groups used for sessions 1 - 3 are only for those sessions; 2027 classes will be arranged before Prep Orientation on Thursday 10 December.

Prep 2027Transition Sessions: One hour sessions for enrolled 2027 students with class teachers and specialists. Please plan for your child to attend all four sessions. Information will be emailed to parents of enrolled students in early Term 4 (which starts 5 October). Please understand that we have a very large number of feeder kindergartens and cannot schedule sessions around pre-school times. Your child's kinder will understand the need to prioritise their Prep Transition sessions. |

Session 4: Thursday 10 December, 9:30 - 12:30 pm
Bring a morning tea snack, water bottle and hat.
Children will receive a 2027 Prep Pack including time/dates scheduled for 2027 'Meet the Teacher' parent meetings and 'Entry Assessment' meetings for your child. |
