Dear parents and carers,
As you may know, the Australian Education Union (AEU) has foreshadowed further industrial action. In addition to the current actions in place, the AEU has indicated it intends to impose:
Schools have received a common timeline for steps in the proposed stop work. In line with those steps, principals must inform parents/carers by 2:00 pm on Wednesday 22 July 2026 if their school is unable to provide full supervision for all students.
We regret that earlier information will not be available as principals must await AEU notification of participants and advise the Department of their school's situation, as has happened previously.
The proposed stoppage may have a wider impact than the recent action in March. With the entire state affected on the same day, it is possible that we will be be unable to provide enough CRTs to supervise all students.
Schools have been advised this morning of a revised offer that bargaining representatives, including the AEU, are considering. Although we hope an Agreement can be reached before next Wednesday, parents/carers should be prepared to make alternative arrangements for their children on Thursday 23 July, if needed.
Please watch your email for an LPS update on or by next Wednesday, via our official communication channels, eNews or Sentral.
