The Victorian Government has announced the easing of restrictions from 6pm Friday 29 October, given the early achievement of the 80 per cent vaccination target.
This means that all metropolitan Melbourne year levels will return to full-time onsite learning from Monday 1 November.
There is no change to 'part-time on-site and LFH' this week. The latest dates for students to return are as follows, with everyone at LPS back from Monday 1 November.
Please note: Tuesday 2 November is a public holiday for Melbourne Cup Day.

Thanks to all our Year 3 and 4 parents for your help in maintaining our very high proportion of mask-wearers. They look fantastic (as well as being safer).
Now that your children have resumed school part-time, we're providing another video from the Royal Children's Hospital, recommended by some of our parents.
Are you worried about your child getting COVID-19? Is Delta worse than the other variants? Should you vaccinate your child when it’s available? These experts answered these questions and more in September 2021...
Allergies and COVID-19
We have been contacted by some parents, concerned that their child's Hay Fever may present like COVID-19 symptoms. Our Forms Page includes writable pdf forms for a number of health conditions, including Rhinitis (Hay Fever).
Please ask your doctor or medical specialist to complete this form, then forward to our office. Apart from the similarity of some symptoms, these forms assist us to respond to your child's medical needs.

Parents Group News

REMINDERS:
Requests for 2022 class placements:
Many factors are taken into account when placing students in class groups for the following year. If parents have a particular request, these should be made in writing by email to laburnum.ps@education.vic.gov.au or by hard copy, and addressed to the Principal (not your child’s teacher). They must be received by Friday 5 November. These are then considered along with those of other families, teachers and students.
As in previous years, please do not ask for specific teachers for 2022 as these requests will not be considered. We also respectfully request that your requests are reasonable; one or two requests per child are manageable as we try to juggle competing and often conflicting priorities.
Due to the complex process involved, late requests cannot be accepted.
Leaving LPS?
We have almost finalised our 2022 staffing, which correlates with student enrolments. If your child is leaving the school at the end of this year (except for Year 6 students of course), have you let us know? If not, please call or email our office as soon as possible.
