It's been great to welcome students back online this week. In anticipation of the staggered return to on-site learning, we have sent families a link to the LFH Format Pulse Check Survey to complete.
Following government announcements in the holidays, our teachers have been discussing how we can once again make this transition back to school as successful as possible.
LFH eNews will continue to communicate whole school arrangements, such as play areas, mask wearing, ventilation and pick up and drop off arrangements, as soon as we can. However, we understand parents may have questions that are specific to a particular year level or age group. So we are offering parents an opportunity to reconnect online with all the teachers in their child's sub-school, just prior to each cohort’s return to school.
These Parents@Webex sessions also allow families who are new to the school to put a face to all of the names of teachers in their child’s sub-school.
As there could be up to 200 parents/carers in each meeting, teachers do want to ensure they address the wonderings that are most important and relevant. To gauge these, our Parents Group is kindly assisting teachers with Google Form results for families' questions around your child's reconnection, wellbeing and successful transition back to school.
The Google Form, sent via Sentral email, will ask you:
How can we, as a school community, all work together to best support my child to successfully return to school?
Please respond with any hopes and wonderings that you may have relating to your child's reconnection and wellbeing that may be supported by yourself, teachers and leaders in their return to onsite schooling.
When each sub-school team receives these Google Form compilations, our teachers will tailor their Webex presentation to try to respond to important and relevant themes.
For Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 families, these Google Form links will be emailed to you today. Please add your thoughts by 9 am on Monday 11 October. (That's the same time that the LFH Pulse Check Survey will close.)
Of course, if you don't have any questions, you're welcome to come along anyway to the session concerning your child. Webex invitations will be sent next week. The dates to note are:
Middle School and Senior School Google Form links and Parents@Webex will progressively follow the Junior School sessions. This allows parents with younger children to think about what has already been communicated and frame any considerations about their older children.
We hope this process helps families successfully reconnect with our staff and feel confident again that all our students will feel safe and supported at school.
A message from Mrs Keogh: Book Week is coming!!
Book Week is a wonderful time of the year. This year's Book Week will be celebrated by LPS students online from the 11-15th October, with our Book Week dress up day being held on Friday 15th October.
In anticipation of this exciting event we are asking everyone to put their thinking caps on and start thinking about which book character you would like to be on that day.

If you are struggling for ideas you might like to dress up as a character around the CBCA 2021 Book Week theme, ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.’ This may invoke thoughts of dinosaurs, imaginary and mythological animals, of adventurers and explorers.
Will your book week character be found in the past, a fantasy land, or perhaps even in a future universe?
We can’t wait to see you in your Book Week costume.
