The next phase... 19 July 2021
The Chief Health Officer has advised that the current lockdown needs to be extended. Although it is extremely disappointing that our students won't return to school on Wednesday, the health and safety of the community is paramount and we all have an essential role to play in reducing the transmission of Coronavirus.
With today's announcement, we will implement the next phase of Learning from Home over the remainder of this week.
Firstly, could all parents please note that we have changed two of our LFH Resource passwords for security reasons: Story Box Library and Sunshine Online. Updated details can be accessed from the LFH Passwords page.
We hope your children enjoyed reconnecting with their class and teacher at Webex Essential and Plus today. These sessions will continue daily for Groups 1 and 2, with the same passwords.
All Webex meetings are being added to the online Event Calendar, found under the News tab on our website. Due to the lockdown extension, we're about to add more of these!
From Friday, we will add Webex Check-in on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Any students can come to their class check-in if they'd like to ask questions or clarify learning tasks with their teacher. Teachers will email Check-in invitations tomorrow or Wednesday.
Please note that, as the Year 1 PLC team has a pre-arranged Professional Practice Day with Viv Arbaci, our Literacy consultant, there are no Year 1 Webex sessions on Thursday this week.
Based on feedback on last term's online Specialists@ Webex, we are also restarting these on Wednesday. Each specialist teacher is offering a 25-minute class to each of the sub-schools (Prep, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6). Just like last time, parents can find a ‘Specialists’ page with each sub-school’s day, time and password information on our website, attached to your child's LFH pages. Just log into the same location as you usually do for LFH to find these.
We hope your child finds these optional sessions fun and engaging. As there could be up to 220 students in each Specialist session, all students should ensure their microphone is on mute!
Our specialist teachers will again be sitting in on classroom Webex Essential meetings, to be ready to step in if a class teacher is absent. Thank you to all our specialist teachers again for their flexibility.
Our Intervention teachers are ready to begin Literacy Intervention for those students requiring Tier 2 or 3 supports/interventions, as outlined in last week's LPS eNews Learn page. None of these clash with class Webex sessions. Invitations will be sent to parents of these students over the next few days by your child's Intervention teacher, with small group or individual Intervention sessions beginning on Wednesday for some students.
Looks like LFH eNews will be around for a little longer!
Stay safe everyone, and look for silver linings - a little positivity could be very reassuring over the coming days and weeks.
