The Final Edition: More information about this term 9 October 2020
Parents have been advised about our return to school next week, in LFH eNews # 19.
The Chief Health Officer and Department of Education continue to update advice to schools. As students return, let's remember we are still in Stage 4 State of Disaster and arrangements are dependent on the COVID-19 situation.
The new DET table and notes below are taken from the Operations Guide and include relevant sections of that information for parents. We are working through these as advice is updated, so please continue to be patient.
Our priority right now is a smooth transition back to school. As well, this eNews outlines some curriculum changes for Term 4.

These remain open. Please use these for non-urgent communications. As teachers resume face to face teaching, anticipate a 24 - 48 hours response time. Urgent matters should be emailed or phoned through to our office, in case a teacher is absent.
Teaching and Learning
Given the extended period of remote learning, DET has advised us of modifications to school curriculum for Term 4:
Schools have some increased flexibility in relation to curriculum provision in Term 4. This is in order to focus on the priorities of supporting students who need additional support, continuing to extend and stretch those students who have thrived and enabling students to make successful transitions.
The focus of curriculum planning should therefore be literacy and numeracy together with time allocated to physical activity. Schools are able to determine the extent to which other learning areas are included in the teaching and learning program.
During Term 4, and with limitations on Music and Library programs, we are utilising our flexible specialist teachers as follows:

With Winter behind us, please remember that all students need to bring their SunSmart hat to school every day.
Hopefully, this was the final edition of LFH eNews and marks the end of our LFH experience!
Next week, we will resume publishing our fortnightly LPS eNews.
Thank you all so much for your support and see you next week!
