Parent - Teacher Meetings and more 27 July
Parent-teacher meetings will be held on Tuesday 28 July (tomorrow) and Thursday 30 July. Teachers will email invitations to parents who have registered, so you'll know how to join the meetings.
Meetings with our Chinese interpreter will be held during the day on Thursday 30 July. At the moment, we need to use Hui Lin to translate, rather than utilising external interpreters. Although we were able to work around Webex Essential, unfortunately four Webex Extra student meetings will be affected, all in Years 5 or 6. Your child’s teacher will let you know if this is the case. This is unavoidable, given the complexity of organising these meetings by video conferencing. Thank you for your understanding as we tackle our next 'new normal' challenge.
If there are unexpected technical issues for parents or teachers that affect these meetings, teachers will either phone you or contact you at another time to reschedule.
Webex Parent - Teacher Meetings for most parents
These meetings are different from the daily Webex student meetings, as you will be emailed a URL link to access the teacher’s ‘Personal Room’.
Use the URL link at your scheduled time to be taken to the ‘Personal Room lobby’. Parents will then need to wait in the lobby. When the teacher finishes their previous meeting, they will invite you into their room.
Please understand that teachers will need to work to scheduled times, as we don’t want to keep parents waiting in the lobby past your starting time. Please double-check your meeting times. The teacher can see when you arrive in their lobby.
Webex Parent - Teacher Meetings for EAL parents who requested a Chinese interpreter
These are more complex with Webex as they involve the teacher, parents and our interpreter. To allow families to be scheduled efficiently, these meetings will be held during the day on Thursday 30 July and in family groupings.
Your child’s teacher will email you a URL link tomorrow, that you paste into your browser to join the teacher's 'Personal Room', at your scheduled time. Parents will then need to wait in the teacher's virtual lobby. When the teacher finishes their previous meeting, they will invite you into their Webex room.
Thank you also to those parents who have also registered interest for the Parents@Webex session with us and Hui Lin on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Another similar invitation will follow soon for that meeting.

Google Classroom: Access from Home (Years 4 - 6)
Parents had until today to opt out of Google Classroom (GC) for Years 4 - 6. Teachers will soon start introducing the program with groups of students.
We have added a page to our website, with a video on how to access GC from home. It can be found here and is also available through the LFH Passwords for Parents page.
Printing the LFH pages
Thank you to a parent who let us know they had missed information on how to save and print pdf versions of our LFH pages. Details are in LFH eNews 2 – scroll down to find this.
Have a great week everyone and take care,
Kim
