Week Beginning - 27 July 2020
Keep up the great work guys!
Please remember to:

During the week, there are 2 tasks which we would like you to photograph.
These will then need to be sent to your classroom teacher via the Sentral Parent Portal.
They will be used to provide feedback during Learning from Home.
Try to organise and plan your week, spreading your learning tasks over your Learning from Home days.
Here's an example for five days, but your family might use different days for your learning. Please remember your Webex sessions as well!

Writing
Learning Intentions:
We are learning to identify the structure of rhyming couplets.
We are learning how to write rhyming couplet poems.
‘Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.‘
These famous lines are an example of a rhyming couplet.
A rhyming couplet is as the name suggests, a couple - meaning two - of lines put together that rhyme.
Not only this, the couplet must be a complete thought or tell the full story.
The lines must also have the same or similar syllables and have the same rhythm.
Some examples of this are:
‘My favourite thing to do is play,
This is how I will spend my day.’
‘I love running about in the sun,
Playing with my friends and having fun.’
Tasks:
‘Red is an apple, juicy to bite,
Red is a fire, blazing and bright.’
‘Down at the bottom of the deep dark sea
Something is stirring, it wants its tea.’
Make at least 5 different rhyming couplets. Remember, your couplets need to be a complete thought.
Success Criteria:
I can reconstruct a rhyming couplet poem.
I can create my own rhyming couplet poems.
Please ask your parents to take a photo of your rhyming couplets and send it to us via Sentral by Wednesday 29th July.

This week, we are going to continue practising so we can get better each week.
Remember to always find a safe space (inside/outside) to practise spinning the rope over your head and jumping over the rope.
If you don’t have a skipping rope, you can use a hula hoop, a spare rope or simply jump back and forth over a line on the ground. Once you are able to spin the rope over your head, practise forward and backward skipping.
