Key vocabulary:
La manzana roja- the red apple
La pera verde- the green pear
El plátano amarillo- the yellow banana

Book: I Eat a Rainbow (Yo Como un Arco Iris) Click here
Notes for parents only:
In Spanish, we write an adjective after a noun.
However, when we translate it back to English, the adjective is placed before the noun.
For example: “The green apple” becomes “La manzana verde”.
(Literally: The apple green. Yet we would still say ‘the green apple’).
Activity 2: Make a book
It’s your turn to become an author!
We will be using our knowledge of numbers, colours and fruits to make a book to display in the library when you return to school!
This part of your task will take longer than one session and it does not have to be completed all at the same time.
You will need a grey lead pencil, colouring in pencils and some A4 paper.
Step 1: Complete a front cover of your book with the title “Las frutas y yo”
(Fruits and Me)
Draw a picture of yourself eating your favourite fruit!
Step 2: Ask a grown up to write the following sentences in Spanish and English by copying the text below.
Write one sentence per page.
Page 1: Yo como uno manzana verde (I eat 1 green apple)
Page 2: Yo como dos peras verdes (I eat 2 green pears)
Page 3: Yo como tres bananas amarillas (I eat 3 yellow bananas)
Page 4: Yo como cuatro naranjas anaranjados (I eat 4 orange oranges)
Page 5: Yo como cinco fresas rojas (I eat 5 red strawberries)
Page 6: Tú comes seis cerezas rojas (You eat 6 red cherries)
Page 7: Tú comes siete arándanos azules (You eat 7 blue blueberries)
Page 8: Tú comes ocho pomelos rosas (You eat 8 pink grapefruit)
Page 9: Tú comes nueve uvas negras (You eat 9 black grapes)
Page 10: Tú comes diez lychees blancos (You eat 10 white lychees)
Step 3: Illustrate each page
Step 4: Ask a grown up or a big brother or sister to help you staple your book together.
I can’t wait to see your story in the library when we return!
Activity 3: Read your book
Once you have finished your book, try reading the words in English first.
The Spanish words are hard to say without listening to them.
Here is a number song from last term to assist you to learn how to say the numbers: Click here
Music
Learning Intention: We are learning to sing a part in a song.
We will be learning this song over the next 3 weeks.

Art
Learning intention: Explore ideas, experiences, observations and imagination to create visual artworks.
You’ve been watching the weather in class.
Can you see any clouds today?
What shapes are they?
Think of some words that describe them.
Can you see shapes that remind you of something?
Find some colouring materials and fill a page with the colour of your sky. Then cut out shapes from cloud coloured paper to make your clouds and glue them onto your sky. You might need to add some grey or sunset colours to your clouds. Take inspiration from the sky outside or use your imagination.
What else could be up in your sky?
