Wednesday
Warm-up - Go Noodle activity ‘100 fast jumping jacks’ Click here
Obstacle course
Create an obstacle course inside or outside. Remember to ask what you are allowed to use first and pack everything away! Think about climbing under a chair, over a couch, add in a few star jumps, bounce and catch a ball etc. Time yourself to see how long it takes you to complete. Keep trying to improve on your time.
Thursday
Warm-up - Go Noodle activity ‘Run the red carpet’ Click here
Throwing and catching skills
Find a suitable ball in the house (if you don’t have one fold a pair of socks to make a ball or even blow up a balloon).
Friday
Warm-up
See if you can walk around the house balancing one book on your head? Can you try with two or three? Could you sit down without the book falling off?
Skittles
Make your own version of skittles. Find a ball and something in your house to use as skittles (e.g. empty cardboard boxes), stand from 4m back and roll your ball to knock them over. Try making it harder, by standing further back.
Spanish
30 min per week
El cuerpo- The Body ¡Bailar! (Dance!)
Create a dance using the body parts that we have learnt about this term. As you are dancing, say the word when you are shaking that body part!
Head – la cabeza (lah cabez-za)
Shoulders – los hombros (loss ohm-bross)
Hips – las caderas (lass cad-air-as)
Legs – las piernas (lass pee-air-ness)
Knees – las rodillas (lass rod-ee-yas)
Arms- los brazos (loss brah-zoss)
Hands - los manos (loss mar-noss)
Music
60 min per week
Get moving to the music! Join in with the dancing and question and answers to ‘Pop See Ko’. There are two versions of the song, and you can do both of them:
Version 1 Click here
Version 2 Click here
Create your own actions in the song when it comes to your part. Practise doing the song with the Go Noodle people, and then perform and teach the song to your family, your siblings, your pet or your favourite toys!
Listen to different types of music and find an example of the following:
-Music that makes you feel calm
-Music that makes you want to dance (and please dance!!!)
-Music that makes you smile
-Music that makes you laugh
Think about the music that makes you feel calm. What tempo is it? Is it different to the tempo of the music that makes you want to dance? Do you think there is a reason for this?
Art
60 min per week
Year 1
“As legend has it, in the 1800s a mythical yokai appeared off the coast of Kumamoto, Japan. The Amabie, as it was called, was described as a mermaid-like creature with long hair, a beak and 3 legs. It made several predictions related to bountiful harvests and, before disappearing back into the sea, left the locals with some advice in case of an epidemic. According to records, “If an epidemic occurs, draw a picture of me and show it to everyone,” said the yokai.”
Look at all the different drawings people have made of this mythological creature.
Use whatever you have at home to draw/paint or collage your own idea of an Amabie and hang it up at home for everyone to see.
Year 2
Weaving
If you have taken home your flower basket, complete weaving this first.
You can tape your weft string to a paddle pop stick or long match stick and it will work as well as a needle. You can use string and strips of fabric or paper, as well as wool. Remember to weave back the opposite way each time.
Library
30 min per week
We are looking at differences between fiction and non-fiction books. Use the chart below to assist you with understanding the differences.
Read a fiction book of your choice and look through a non-fiction book that interests you.
How are these books the same?
How are they different?
Choose an animal of your choice and create a fiction front cover and a non-fiction front cover depicting the differences between both.
Make sure you add a title to your front cover that shows whether it is fiction or non-fiction.
See the example below.
