Welcome to warm and friendly Laburnum Primary School, where we aspire to be a school community that lives our Vision of Learn, Thrive, Contribute.
Laburnum has long had an enviable reputation as a school where learning is valued and students achieve. Our results continue to maintain and extend that reputation, largely due to our great teachers and supportive parents. We employ teachers who are caring, professional and willing to learn and we take pride in their development. Our school improvement initiatives are based on sound educational research, explicitly taught to enthusiastic students and shared with parents.
As students are our number one priority, we provide a learning environment where people thrive. Our comprehensive academic program is underpinned by a consistent approach to student wellbeing, based on the school values of Curiosity, Respect, Integrity and Resilience. Our staff thrive through ongoing professional learning that is directly linked to student needs. We ensure there are effective leaders and resources to support teachers' efforts, whether they are experienced or newer-to-the-profession. Parents are welcome to assist our teachers and students, and we offer courses to help them understand contemporary classrooms.
We expect our students to contribute to the world around them and our adult community members to model that vision. Student leadership opportunities begin with our Junior School Council, who collaborate on fundraising for charity and school improvements. Our Year 6 students are role models and Year 6 captains relish their contributions to the school and wider community. Strong community-building and fundraising is led by an active, involved Parents Group who have a proud history of significant school projects and valued events. Teachers, parents and Education Support Staff share their skills by offering additional extracurricular programs for students.
It is a privilege to lead Laburnum Primary School and share our school with prospective parents and students. Please call our office on 9898 5811 if you'd like to join a school tour and see for yourself why Laburnum Primary School is a great place to Learn, Thrive and Contribute.
